Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PickleHost (the "Service"), operated by Sandridge Ventures LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("PickleHost," "we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older and located in the United States to use PickleHost. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
PickleHost does not knowingly support or permit use by minors.
2. Description of the Service
PickleHost is a coordination and communication platform that helps organizers run recurring pickleball (and similar) games by managing invitations, RSVPs, reminders, and related logistics.
PickleHost does not:
- Organize, host, supervise, or operate games
- Reserve courts on your behalf
- Control who attends or how games are run
- Provide instruction, coaching, or safety oversight
3. User Roles
The Service supports different user roles, including:
- Organizers / Hosts: Users who create and manage recurring games
- Participants / Players: Users who receive invitations and RSVP to games
- Clubs / Coaches: Higher-volume or professional users (current or future)
Your responsibilities may vary depending on your role.
4. Account Registration & Phone Number Requirement
To use PickleHost, you must create an account and provide a valid mobile phone number. You cannot use the Service without providing a phone number.
By providing your phone number, you explicitly consent to:
- Receiving SMS and email communications related to the Service
- PickleHost sharing your phone number with:
- Organizers of games you join
- Players participating in the same games (actual or planned)
- Users whose contact lists you join through participation
This phone number sharing is a core function of the Service.
5. Communications (SMS & Email)
PickleHost sends:
- Invitations
- RSVP confirmations
- Reminders
- Service-related and transactional messages
You may opt out of SMS by replying STOP, but doing so will prevent you from receiving essential communications and may limit or disable your ability to use the Service.
You acknowledge that message and data rates may apply.
6. Payments, Subscriptions, and Chip-In Contributions
Organizer Subscriptions
Certain features are available through paid subscriptions for organizers. Payments are processed through Stripe or other third-party payment providers.
Participant Contributions ("Chip-In")
Participants may be able to contribute funds to help organizers offset costs (e.g., court fees). These contributions:
- Are voluntary
- Are not escrowed or pooled by PickleHost
- Are processed via third-party payment providers
- Do not create any obligation or guarantee regarding events
No Fiduciary Relationship
PickleHost is not a bank, escrow service, payment intermediary, or fiduciary. We do not hold funds on behalf of users.
7. User Responsibilities & Conduct
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Use the Service lawfully
- Treat other users respectfully
- Comply with all applicable laws and venue rules
- Resolve disputes directly with other users when possible
We may suspend or terminate accounts for abuse, misuse, or violations of these Terms.
8. Assumption of Risk (IMPORTANT)
Pickleball and similar activities involve inherent physical risks, including serious injury or death.
By using PickleHost, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You participate entirely at your own risk
- PickleHost does not inspect courts, equipment, or conditions
- PickleHost does not supervise or control games
- Organizers are responsible for their events
- You are responsible for determining whether participation is safe for you
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
PickleHost and its owners, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:
- Personal injury or property damage
- Accidents or disputes at games
- Lost profits or data
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PickleHost from any claims arising out of:
- Your use of the Service
- Your participation in events
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your interactions with other users
11. Intellectual Property
The Service and all related content are owned by PickleHost. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.
12. Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use data.
13. Dispute Resolution (PLEASE READ)
Arbitration
Except for small claims court matters, any dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis.
Class Action Waiver
You agree that disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis, and not as part of any class or representative action.
Opt-Out
You may opt out of arbitration by emailing legal@picklehost.app within 30 days of account creation. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
